Thanks flr all the suggestions! So we have Szchenyi Baths booked along with a few restaurants. Gonna head to the Museum of Illusions too and then have a wander to look at a few open air attractions around the city. Any suggestions for nightlife there? |

Find a reliable taxi driver ,give him a nice tip and he will take to the best "off tourist paths" places...and cheaper that the well known ones,as in pubs and places to eat, strip club of course etc... |

Avoid anything "sexy". You will get r*bbed. Lived there for 10 years and regularly saw bouncers and organised crime heavys bring stag parties to ATMS and get them to empty their accounts after already over charging them in strip clubs and sex clubs. AVOID |

Visited last December for 4 nights.
Airport about 20mins bus ride into the city. Can purchase a bus ticket outside terminal.
If changing currency over, take notice and search for the best rate for exchange.
I found public transport great over. You can buy 24hr/ 72hr travel pass if i remember correctly. Tis cheap enough. Just keep it with you and put your name on the ticket. I never once got asked for it while travelling around. Tram/ bus/ subway.
Places to visit
Szechenyi Thermal Bath ( enjoy the view )
Hero square
Paliament building
Castle (do the Dracula tour at night) pre book before leaving
Labyrinth of Buda Castle
Lots more. Food I found was hit n miss. Found one place for authentic Hungarian food but cannot remember the name.
Local beer isn't bad either.. Enjoy the trip |
