Has Fab had its day? Is it over the hill?

As above, do we think Fab has had its day? Or is it worth saving. I m not having a rant or anything but I get a sense of boredom wit fab now from friends and even other Fab users, just throwing it out there, what is the main issues? and can it be saved?

E.g.

- people being offended

- using it like a dating site

- people not showing up

- attached people

- people being extremely vain

- used as a vanity show

Just wondering what the rest think

Nah, we're only getting started!

Use your common sense, don't engage with the negativity and you'll be grand

I find the forums can have slumps from being great craic and informative to being political and boring with alot of attention seeking. I just bear with it coz they always liven back up.

Certain things run their course with people no doubt. Others are still in their first flush.

So long as its still relevant and useful to people then it has its place. Just because some are bored with it, it doesn't mean it's not of value to others

Everything you've listed has been part and parcel of the site for years.

People may have run their course but there will always be plenty to keep the site going.

A lot more active users than days gone by. Doesn't need saving at all.

It's not the place it's the people, for the few genuine people there's 1200 messers. Always has been the way since these sites started.

I think human nature is unlikely to change after all these centuries.

There will always be an appetite for sleaze and debauchery that can't be sourced down your local pub or club.

So no, I don't see fab as dying out.

Obviously people grow in and out of phases so they'll move on when the shine wears off or they decide it's not for them.

People who stay for the social side wouldn't tire so easily perhaps as they'll have more long-term connections to nurse along.

If you find the answer to the questions I your own experience are mostly yes, and that fab isn't an enjoyable thing for you anymore then yes fan has had its day for you.

I don't see any more offense, vanity, fakes etc.... now than I did x number of years ago. I just have less or more tolerance for it at different times

Fab is the exact the same as it was when I first joined a few years.People who give out about it usually those who are not getting meets or it hasn't lived up to their ideas of sexual decadence on tap from what I've seen.

There is a wide variety of people on fab and what they are looking for varies as well.

There will always be people who struggle on here and unfortunately a lot of the time it's men who have less luck on here. But it doesn't mean this site is doing anything wrong.or has died a death.

It will never die, people come and go, people get what they want here, people don't get what they want here and that all depends in the person themselves, their behaviour etc

There are lulls at times, the forums can be crap, can be bitchy, can be fun and enlightening at times.

Its up to ourselves to make our journey here worthwhile

A key is to pace yourself.

Max 5 dick pics a day, otherwise you will be on your 3rd go round by week two.

Now who wants to see mine for the 200th time

Just look at the amount of socials happening at the moment. Maybe people aren’t looking for one on one meets as much but going to socials and clubs more instead.

I enjoy the forums more now as I've gotten to know people on them over the years but I don't post as often

The socials are fantastic and I'd never get bored of them especially with the friends I've made

Already booked two weekends away and a weeks holidays in The Canaries later in the year with them so I definitely don't think Fab has had its day

I think it is more likely people's enjoyment will come and go than the site itself. I don't know if many view it like I do but I regard Fab as an open book, I get to write my own story in it.

I travel quite a bit with work and this affords me the option of using other sites that are not as popular in Ireland or the UK as Fab.

For obvious reasons they shall remain unnamed, however the question the OP asked was; "has Fab had its day?" I certainly don't believe so, but it maybe in need of an update, some freshing up, reformating, just like a bit newer, more modern, user friendly, a feed wall perhaps, events pages, travel calendar. A social media format, but dedicated to Swingers and the lifestyle, Fab feels a bit webpagey to me, now, if that makes sense.

One of the sites I mentioned previously, used predominantly in France, had a total rebrand and update and relaunched itself, to great success. Just a thought.

I agree with everything you say

The most pertinent feature needed is probably an events section. DD's events thread shows the sheer number of events on this year, impossible to keep track of without that thread.

The site needs an App really. With an lot more features like more searching and filtering options. Also more options on privacy i.e. there should be a setting that stops hidden profiles from viewing others, (privacy should work both ways). Event calendars, group chats etc.

I don't think so. I do get fatigued by the site but only the same way a person does about anything familiar in life.

Same dramas as long as I have been here, (I am not the problem )

I have been on Fab for about 8 years and dip in and out and at times will not go on it for years. The forums are tedious as they do repeat themselves. I’m sure they are exiting and interesting for the new members for a couple of months before they get tedious. There are a couple of forum warriors who need to post on every thread and often criticise and complain and see their unappointed role as the police.

Socials and parties however are the way to go and judging from the list of events posted for this year fab is very much alive n kicking. It’s the best site for the lifestyle out there at the moment despite its flaws.

I agree best site in Ireland, very easy to use and not bad looking lol

But an event page for Ireland is badly needed! Soooo much on nowadays!

Please please please Fab administrators, can you create an Irish event page?
