Portlaoise

Only a couple of clubs in Ireland OP. There is 1 in Dublin called RVC. Scroll back through the forums and you will find it.

As far as I know there is only 1 fully operating play club in Ireland at the moment. That is the Vanilla club in Dublin.

There are plenty of other regular social events all over the country. If you look up the forum there is an upcoming events 2023 list of all events.

Ah you kinda have to see temple bar once, but as said it's really expensive so don't plan on staying in the pubs etc for your whole visit.

Dublin

100% have to go to Temple Bar if only visiting for a weekend. It is expensive but if you are coming to Dublin to visit busy pubs with live music then Temple Bar has exactly that. There are other good pubs in the city but Temple Bar is a must for tourists
