Anyone have the same affliction.
Swirly thoughts, fab convo, book reading until exhaustion.. You need sleep but you can't sleep.
Lavender, meditation, no tech, melatonin... Tried it all...
Anyone else on the unpaid night shift? |

100% feel your pain… been there and bought the t-shirt!! Nothing worse is there?! Apart from the clock going off early the following morning lol |

Sleep hygiene advice can be hardcore .
Unless you’re doing so for sexy reasons :
Don’t go to bed unless you’re very tired
Go to bed the same time every night
Don’t read in bed
If you can’t sleep go back to the living room
No coffee or tea after 2pm

Many, but not all, cases of frequent insomnia can be attributed to the person's mismanagement of their daily and nightly routines and their sleeping environment.
Blackout blinds are great, and a cool environment; a variety of duvets for the different seasons.
In isolation no single solution will work but collectively they will.
I used to be an insomniac but I solved this problem several years ago; as with all complex problems a meticulous analysis, and incremental implementation will solve the problem.
A combination of 15 to 20 actions will aid sleep after about six months, with further fine-tuning thereafter.
Sleep is the most crucial aspect of everyone's life. |

Jaysus, I think I've found a cure. I fell asleep before I got to the end of the first paragraph of that. |

As I say to my kids (and himself) - get off the damn phone! The light from electronic devices stimulates the brain. Try a phone curfew from 8 pm for a week and see if it helps. |

Yes, I agree. That's why doctor gave me melatonin prob due to hormonal fluctuations. Hate the constant cycle of insomnia but I agree a good routine prob help alot. Either that or more sex to help me sleep. Those feel good endorphins.. |

While I worked shift work my sleep pattern was shocking, it got to the stage had to come off then as my physical and mental health was suffering, took another year of erratic sleep patterns to finally chat to the doc about peri menopause, I'm on hrt nearly a year best thing I ever did.

Melatonin is naturally produced by humans when we are exposed to a natural rhythm of light and dark but this has been very much disrupted by modern life, especially the blue light from phones and external light.
Install blackout blinds, so that your bedroom is totally dark, with not the slightest hint of light from anywhere; internally or externally.
Rather than depend on oral melatonin, stimulate your own production . |

Awwwww hell! I hate it when I can't sleep and it's usually when I'm too excited and no matter what I do I can't sleep, short of knocking myself out against the wall. But then,the next night, oh the next night, after all that glorious exercise and exhaustion, I sleep like the cutest lil baby thumb in mouth and finger up me.... haha no no I don't honestly |

The only time I can close my eyes and sleep is when I'm not meant to like on my lunch break as for sleeping at night, a total disaster,can't switch the head off at night.
I've found the calm app helpful enough at times. |
