It's only an issue if you make it one yourself.
I was 52 when I joined here and I've never once had a conversation about my age.
I've never found it a barrier to meeting. Of course it puts me outside some people's filters but I'm not bothered about that because I'm not what they are looking for just as those outside my filters aren't what I'm looking for.
Therefore in response to your thread title the reality is that Realitys age isn't a problem.

It will make it a little more difficult when you are outside of peoples age ranges but it's still possible to get on in here if you put the required effort in.
