Hi All,
If you are directly employed in the Republic but an NI resident what way do pensions work?
Do you still have to contribute or can you opt out? |

That information is surely available from Revenue/Citizens info/gov UK/etc
Should definitely check the actual documentation and not take advice from fellow fabbers about something like this xx |

AFAIK employers are legally obliged to pay a % of a workers pension fund the rest is made up by the employee themselves and I think the employee can opt in or out on that 1 regardless of what jurisdiction they live in |

Might be different for you, because my work is freelance. So check with Gov.uk and Gov.ie too.
But I jump between Donegal and Belfast for work all year long and can always manually opt out of pension payments if I want |
