"Be careful. Liveline with Joe Duffy did a programme about buyers being scammed
How did the scam work out of interest?"
Buyers were taken in by a slick sales pitch, paid some or all of the money up front (very trusting and unwise) and goods never arrived; it was more complex than that, and the supplier was based in England or Wales as best I can remember. Joe exposed the scam because several Irish residents had been conned by what purported to be a reputable supplier but it was a few years ago. |

13.3 % starting point of €125 but if you get all the details from the dealer and it can be seen that there’s only two seats and belts
You can appeal what the revenue charge |

Technically you wouldn't have to pay vrt if you buy from another EU member country but try telling that to the Irish government, for years they ripped people off when bringing cars in from the UK when they themselves were EU members.. Paying vrt on a vehicle brought in from another eu country is completely illegal and before brexit the government were fined every year for this very reason but they made that much money from vrt that they could pay the fine over 20 times so they continued to break the law.. Imagine a government behaving like that |
