Compartmentalisation is the key to safeguarding each aspect of your life; a different phone number for each facet, and never the twain shall meet.
A dual sim phone is best; and strictly separate e-mail accounts are a must. |

It's up to them really if they want to make it public. It may be a number they just use for fab or it could be someone else's number.Who knows, but it's not something I'd do or use if I saw it on here anyhow. But I'm sure anyone who has done it knows what they are doing and knows the risk if it is their main personal phone. |

A publicly available phone number can often be used as a honey-trap to see what type of individuals are inclined to call, and the types of messages they leave; many companies who have sophisticated cyber security systems in place, to combat a massive and escalating threat, use the honey-pot system, that is totally isolated from their core business system
The nutters, cranks and sabotagers are diverted into a useless cul-de-sac, where they can do no harm or damage; and the core system is preserved.
It's a useful safeguard.
I have a specific phone number, that is usually never on and is never answered, that I use for many different purposes; I can see who rang, but I never return the calls.
My personal phone number is treated like gold-dust! |

Some new Nokia phones, in addition to having dual sims, have a phenomenally long battery life. |
