If they are not your target audience, you can use your filters and block all single men from messaging 
Personally, I would only ever send an introductory message to a profile which is different and stands out from the rest - be that as part of a couple or before when I was on a single woman's profile.
Profiles stand out for me when there's a witty, catching text and fun or original pics...
