"U don’t give
To get back
Maybe your right it’s her decision to come back if she feels so inclined not mine "
And if she doesn’t then I’ll know she’s doing what she wants and then I’ll be happy too night |

I am extremely sceptical of charities in general. I only ever donate to charities that are local to me primarily hospices and respite services.
Had an aunt who stopped voluntary work with a well know charity in one of the most affluent areas of Dublin for fear of being associated with what went on there.
Personally know a few reasonably high profile people who've left the charity "gig" in recent years especially after recent scandals, primarily before they were outed themsleves.
I hate to say it, but there are some truly horrible people involved in charities. Give your your money, time or resources wisely! |

Charity begins at home....
Most of the money donated goes on administration and salaries if you look into any of them beyond their PR spin..
When I donate I donate directly at my discretion without manipulation from big add campaigns that cost a fortune to create fun by the big salaries do gooders....
As said chose wisely |

I only ever give to local charities and in particular the local hospice.
Ran an event 7 years ago that raised nearly £6k for them which is a drop in the ocean but haven't had the energy or inclination to do anything since.
I have been involved in voluntary and charity with since I was 16.
I was a member of a particular charitable group for almost 6 years and a trustee for 3 of those.
No-one got paid a penny but the infighting and backstabbing was unbelievable and l left when other trustees started using equipment and vehicles for their own personal use which had a knock-on effect on the service we were supposed to be providing.
I walked in protest and 3 other trustees and 6 members followed so unfortunately my view on charities will always be tainted. |

I have been doing events for charities. For 30 years . But of late only support local . Meals on wheels soup kitchen homeless in my area etc . Very disappointed at some/most of the top and well known one who get marathons walks etc done for them . I have a list of what the staff are paid . So called ceo's are getting €100.000 .plus Per annum. With others on 60/70 thousand . Now i know no people need be paid . But do they deserve one to two thousand a week |

I try to add food to the local food bank every week. Above and beyond that, the only charities I support regularly are two local ones that are close to my heart for personal reasons and who do phenomenal work |

I fundraised on my Facebook and was able to donate to 2 families in social care plus five other families for meal packs and a single mam to dress her little girl .. it’s good to give back when ye can . So many are in need now locally for basics |

as the OP said ,what you can and when you can.
Just after donating to a local fund gathering to send a little boy to Scotland for Leukemia treatment stage one hopefully gets sorted on Meds that keep it at bay.
Money not the be all and end all,we only get a loan of for a short period of time so share and share alike. |

I donated to MS Ireland, SVP and Women's Aid this year.
I try to leave some food items in charity trolley while doing my shopping.
Unfortunately there has been a lot of scandals with charities over the years.
Maybe the charity regulator might sort them out |
