Longford

It’s an odd one but I’m (male) looking to go on a city break next year with my adult son just wondering if there’s one European city in particular you enjoyed and why ..

Dublin/Birmingham

All depends - bit more detail! Are you looking for a place that's good to go on the beer / is cheap / has good tourist activities / is handy to commute all around / all or none of the above are important / etc etc...

Glasgow is our hometown and great place to visit.

4 professional football clubs, 1 professional rugby team, plenty of golf course, museums, pubs, strippers and the live scene for music and comedy is amazing.

Ya, Budapest is a really nice place, can take in the public baths and some big Hunarian can bend you into shape afterwards!

Edinburgh is very nice too.

We're hoping to get to Amsterdam next year, always wanted to go!

How many more to be named until the majority of major European capitals/cities are covered?

Few lads here harp on about Amsterdam and Prague, apparently it’s great for bonding

Tipperary

As someone said alot comes down to what ye are interested in. No point going to a city full of museums if that's not yere thing. If it's primarily just to stroll around and enjoy a few drinks and good food then sky is the limit. Any of the Baltic capitals, Barcelona, Krakov, Lisbon, Porto, Amsterdam, Prague. Or Marakech for something different.

Can agree with everyone above about Barcelona, lovely city, loads to do tourist/bars etc. Airport is only about 20mins out too.

Berlin is a savage city too, again lovely city, loafs of tourist stuff, city is very handy to get around, loads of clubs/pubs and it's relatively cheap.

Amsterdam is lovely, was there during the summer. But its very crowded with tourists and the pints are 9€.

To put in another suggestion Copenhagen, one of my favourite cities, especially summertime, its a tad pricey tho, I paid 36€ for a double Jamesom and Coke there

Riga is a lovely little get away also, you've the old town and the new town, and it's cheap as chips too. We went shooting there in an underground bunker and it's was unreal.

merseyside

Loads of brilliant suggestions but maybe try a weekend in Liverpool.

Ryanair and Easyjet connections.

It's a great party city, with some nice hotels and centrally located Airbnb's.

Have a great time wherever you decide.
