The popularity of Mrs Brown's Boys puzzles me, because I do not find it amusing at all; on the contrary I find it crude and tasteless.
It has become a marvellous money-making vehicle for Brendan O'Carroll, and it does appeal to a very large audience, but the point of it? |

I thought the early episodes were funny but it became repetitive.
Went to the live show a few years ago and it was just a repeat of one of the TV episodes and didn't laugh once. Haven't watched it since and wouldn't waste money on going to the show again. |

It's lowest common denominator comedy.
It's been regurgitating jokes from the start. First it was from older sitcoms/sketch shows,. Now it's just recycling it's own jokes
Fair play to Brendan O'Connor he must have made a fortune by now |

Brendan O'Carroll's skill as a comedian is very low down on the professional continuum, and the writing is low brow, crude, toilet humour, that will not last.
But as an entrepreneur he is at the other end of the spectrum, although I still find shallow, tasteless and fake.
He knows how to manage his audience, whom he clearly understands. |

He made money
He lost it all
Then he became a millionaire by finding something that people liked
At one stage the most liked programme on The BBC on Christmas day
He employs a lot of people and does a lot for charity
Its not funny live anymore but some bands only play their greatest hits when they tour,so thats fine
