Coq au vin. Bacon or pancetta, shallots,some chicken drumsticks and thighs, a little garlic ,thyme , passata,and a good glug of red wine . Best thing is while it's slowly braising you can drink the rest of the wine |

Great special dish in the slow cooker is Beef Guinness stew. It's simple and straight forward to prepare and gives you lovely tender beef in a very rich, dark and flavourful sauce. Served with mash potato and some veg, you're onto a winner.
