Covering the event last week in Malone House - behind firewall so no more detail (I wouldn’t give a penny to that comic). Maybe someone can cut and paste?

Read the article and don't know whether it was a good idea to do an interview from the hosts, brings extra spotlight to the event etc.

Difficult situation imo

"Covering the event last week in Malone House - behind firewall so no more detail (I wouldn’t give a penny to that comic). Maybe someone can cut and paste? "

It's named the organisers and location, apparently will be releasing pictures of attendees, as it's on public property they are entitled to if an investigation is launched.

Woke brigade trying to scare people into not attending such partied.

Not being funny but the hosts have done nothing wrong in this they have tried to put their side across and make it clear that it wasn't some sort of sleezy party.

No one is identifiable except the hosts!

It's good to see you don't understand what swinging is. They have done wrong. And if you can't see it that's on you.

It's good to see you've made a comment and have all the information and not just gone on what a scandal newspaper says.

The hosts dealt with this in the best was possible and every guest was informed of the situation.

Swinging isn't public, without a doubt some where at the event without their wider circles knowledge, if these are publicised after this engagement it could affect people's home lives. Professions. That's what I'm against.

Every few year theses things make the papers and all it does is increases the numbers of people googling swinging.

Don't worry about it hide any public face pics or identifiable pics.

As for the organisers giving an " interview" the press always give you a right to reply if they are going to run a story. Sometimes it's better to get out in front of things

Theres 2 pictures including the one from Twitter.

People's faces are not shown

Most people are facing away from the camera anyway

It looks like a member of staff took the picture to be honest

It was a good night, something different,

Fab is not mentioned in the newspaper

The organisers let us all know that the story would appear

Nothing happened at the function

Before anyone castigates the organisers we don't know the pressure they were under when they knew the story was coming out

I seen the article & read it. They interviewed exceptionally well.

It’s so unfair for papers to think it’s ok to plaster ppls private lives across the papers.

I wasn’t at the event and have not attended a such event in this country in a long time for this exact reason. But that’s my call and my “personal” option.

Everyone at that event was there under their own free will.

I just wish the papers would F off and let ppl alone

The only thing for BCC to 'investigate' is their booking process. Not aware of any reports of inappropriate behaviour (we weren't there), or was there? They have no reason to pursue the attendees and unless there was a prebooking clause, which the organisers breached, then all they can do is bar the organisers from making future bookings for BCC owned premises.

They probably have CCTV but BCC can't do anything with it, there would be legal repercussions if they did.

We know people who went, they were prewarned about the article and aren't a bit worried. Feel for the organisers but it's a risk you take and some other organisers have actually courted the press for the publicity.

Calm yourselves....nothing to see here

It's scummy reporting. It's a non-story trying to dramatise something out of nothing. The organisers have been through enough over the recent times without this nonsense adding to it.

I think you’ll probably find those you consider ‘woke’ are far more in favour of sexual liberation than those considered anything but woke.

A quick scan of the few comments under the story on their facebook page shows people just do not care.

That’s what I was thinking. Tabloids have been running this sort of story as long as I can remember, long before anyone used the word “woke” to do with anything other than what you did before you got out of bed.

as party organisers ourselves, who have had not only our events but also our personal life scandalised both in the press and on social media, we stand with the couple who planned the event. in terms of social events, nothing 'we' as organisers do, is in anyway wrong. We simply want to provide a safe fun environment for open minded adults to get to know each other.

my understanding is that a member of staff 'worked it out' and instead of going to a supervisor or manager, went directly to the press. belfast council, will now spend time and money investigating a NON STORY! nothing illegal happened on council premises and the 'masque ball' took place as planned. so the attendees all follow a certain lifestyle... SO WHAT! that is no business of the press or BCC.

for your information a copy of the front page has been added to the hedonismni facebook page. it will be deleted tomorrow.

once again we stand with all party planners who work hard to provide places for us all to meet without being judged!

"as party organisers ourselves, who have had not only our events but also our personal life scandalised both in the press and on social media, we stand with the couple who planned the event. in terms of social events, nothing 'we' as organisers do, is in anyway wrong.

I just checked it. I would have loved to be there!! I hope all parties and organisers can keep doing what they do for the people in this lifestyle to enjoy their sexuality as they freaking want. It’s about damn time to stop demonising sex.
