Belfast

have been a couple of times but was a good few years ago now. Depending on how experienced you are I really enjoyed Borovets as we had a couple of beginners with us and there was plenty for them but we could enjoy some of the harder routes. I enjoyed Bansko as well but it was more intermediate, advanced and don’t think there would be as much for beginner skiers. I’ve friends that skied for the first time and they thought Pamporovo was great for them. For the price Bulgaria is well worth it.

Great advice!

I'd be intermediate and gringo will be a beginner so a mix of slopes would be ideal.

The prices look great too!

At the end of the as long as you’re getting food snow and they cater for beginners you will be grand. It’s probably the best value for money skiing and you will be in good company. There’s always crowds to fall in with and there will be plenty of craic so enjoy.

Dublin

I was there many many years ago and there was a great selection of slopes from beginner up. So I can only presume it has improved since then.

Travel solutions seem to have a lot of decent holidays to Austria and Bulgaria on their website flying from Belfast and dublin

Borovets is nice, smaller more intimate vibe. Good for beginners and slopes a bit quieter. Bansko is a party vibe with far more strip clubs. More for intermediate skiers and a lot larger with busy runs. Both good value for money and I go 2/3 times a year worst the trip

Yep, in Borovets mid Feb for the second time.

Dependent on how good you are, depends how much fun you'll have. There's only a couple of black runs a a few reds but mostly blues and greens.

The night life is supposed to be fun though - we tend to get early nights so we can get out early.

On the plus side, is a fraction of the cost of going to Europe - although there's been a snow shortage too.

Look up the Borovets or Bansko groups on facebook for loads of decent info.

I'd imagine it will be filled with Mafia heads, all I saw the three times I've been to Bulgaria

Been to Borovets several times over the years - heading again this Sat 21st

Great holiday - locals are very friendly, foods grand in the hotels tho can get fantastic food in local restruants / bars

Normally head middle 2 weeks in Feb, this is the earliest I've went & snows not looking the best at the min over there

Get it booked & enjoy

Pm me if you want any further details

Borovets is great and very cheap. I'm going next month for 7 nights with flights, accom in a 4* hotel with half board, transfer, ski rental and ski school included if you needed it for €865.

Just hoping the snow holds up for it!
