"Depends on who you are ...
For a shop owner, it would make good business sense to have your shop stocked in September. Play the music from December 1st.
For me, Xmas Eve is time enough for all that stuff "
Too right , and finish it all by the 27th |

"I'd also opine, OP, that it's waaay to early for Christmas threads on the forum "
Halloween isn't even here yet and there's some people talking about Christmas tunes ,it's easy tbh ..there should be a law brought in that no Christmas music or toys or advertising etc before Dec 1st , some really take the p**s or good out of it really . |

It's early yes but great peace of mind to be organised.
First one as a single mum and well ahead of myself being organised. Know there are loads that can't be and have a few bits for local St VtP and would encourage all that can to do the same! X |

Naas which is South West of Dublin |
Anything before December, preferably the middle at the earliest is just wrong…..
Eamon Ryan, get your finger out and do something about this on environmental grounds…..
Ban it or tax it or something FFS…. |

Watching vikings at the mo ...they celebrated a festival in December to celebrate the winter solstice
And the shortest day of the year....The god fearing Catholics hijacked the idea for their own brain waahing to tell a story of the JC fella being g born in a stable ....
Commercialism uses the emotion of Christmas songs to encourage people to get into buying their over priced crap as presents ...
A totally over rated experience....
The lighting is the only part I enjoy at the darkest time of the year |

Slightly off topic...
I heard about a pumpkin farmer who was having difficulty with lads stealing pumpkins from his field.
In order to stop it he put a big sign on the gate saying...
"ONE OF THE PUMPKINS IN THIS FIELD HAS BEEN INJECTED WITH DEADLY POISON"
Delighted with his ingenuity he went home and slept soundly in the knowledge that his pumpkins were safe.
When he came back the next morning someone had written underneath his sign... "NOW TWO OF THEM HAVE" |

Ah jeasus thats depressive... Christmas is for the religious and children.. let them have it .. no denying it brings a certain sense of goodwill and we all could use a bit of that after this year..
On a side note every believe system is build on the one before it ...

Christmas decorations and songs should be banned in stores before December 1st.
By all means get yourself organised and prepped for Christmas in advance with gifts and foods. I do, but I don't need to be looking at baubles and tinsel while listening to Christmas tunes before December in store.
I doubt that it'll stop any retailer getting in gear for the gift spend, I have no issues with the traditional foods being on sale a month earlier once Halloween is done and dusted...but FFS, stop pushing the Christmas spirit on us for 3 feckin' months of the year - the month of December is sufficient, and probably too much already
