Feck knows if I'm honest I've wobbly fat bits but I've been told before I'm too heavy to be curvy (fair point some of my curves go in the wrong direction), I put large was told I'm not big enough to be large, had fabulous I was told I'm not that either,so I went for average and I ain't flipping changing it again no matter what anyone's says |

His reasoning is that everyones views on body type is different. One persons view of athletic is different to another so he says its easier to let people decide for themselves than give himself a label |

I've changed a bit since I joined fab so had changed it from Average to Athletic but didn't feel right so changed back again then to slim even though I've soft bits. Just nothing is quite right
Not sure many read it if you have pics up, sure they can see and decide for themselves |

I see so many women on here putting themselves in we say a bigger category of body type than they actually are.
Also see a lot of men claiming to be athletic body type and they definitely are not hahahahaha |

YES!! I had a horrid coffee meet when a guy got really pissy because I had said I was curvy and apparently I’m “skinny”. I’ve since changed that description to average. It’s frustrating.
Neither of us are athletic but we are fit and strong so “average” it is.
Argh. I hate “average” |

I've average up, then again there's no such thing as an average body type. So if I go by average weight, I'm below average.
Anyhow who cares about labels? Goggle the pics* and see if they get your juices running.

Reference would be a complex pear shape.
Average around the shoulders and boobs.
Large around the Center, with a soft belly, but you can still distinguish a waistline
Ample around the bottom, with a nice curvature towards the Hips, thighs and ass. Wearing Size 14 but looks 18. Shorty too.
I love my body but also been wanting to change a few things (belly), then when I see someone really enjoying and getting so much pleasure of it, I love it more. |

Doesn't matter how you describe yourself - someone will always have a different interpretation.
There was a time I described myself as slim but felt it better describes the dainty, petite slim body - at 5'8, I have a pretty solid bone structure and am not as toned as I was a couple of years ago so average it is, although I have curves in the right places. I could call myself fabulous as per Fab's available descriptors too.
I don't like average as a description because I'm just not as a person, in body, mind or spirit.
I'm quirky, I'm me, you either like me or not |

"I prob consider my self average to dad bod.... What do you think you are for reference...... "
Size and shape can be subjective
On persons average could be another's athletic.
Pictures paint a 1000 words but easy for girls to put a dress size, that gives an accurate assessment of body size and shape.
Not so easy for guys but height weight chest and waist would be a good indicator. As long as its not 32 waist underneath a 50" belly hangover
And its accurate
Me
5'6" chest 44 waist 32 with no hangover weight 180lbs or 81 kg or 12 stone 12
What's that make me?

Dress size for ladies are just as inaccurate.
Just ask the ladies about how different stores do their sizing. Most of us have preferred brands because of sizing/fit based on body shape.
I might buy a 10 in one store but a 12, possibly even 14 in the next. I also buy my bikini/lingerie as separates because I'm not the same size on top as on bottoms.
Good luck asking for measurements including weight, body fat and muscle mass. |

I've come to the conclusion that I am no size, at least not one that's catered for in shops. When I win the lottery a personal dressmaker will be my first hire. |

Sizing is ridiculous, I've bought jeans in a shop same size same style different colours one wouldn't go up by my knees.
I recently cleared my stash of bras all the same size - 42 of them didn't fit ( bought over the last number of years) |

I've myself down as curvy because I've got lots of curves. I could p put athletic because I'm really active and fitter than i look, but I don't necessarily have a traditionally athletic body. Everyone is comfortable with different descriptions of themselves, each to their own and all that. |

Perhaps the drive for female body positivity is driven by centuries of women being judged first and foremost by their physical appearance. |

People are to caught up in labels and lets be honest a physical attraction is a must for a meet$ be it even coffee n chat to see where it goes. Right now I'd be a dad bod type (what ever the fuck that is lol). But I've been on both ends of the spectrum slim thin guy in my teen, to been 16stone with 5% body fat( to many gym hours and bland diet) to average tonned, to been over weight 18stone due to lay up from injury and bad habits, to now been a bit heavier than I should be , due to lack of gym time or other sporting activities. But no matter what you describe yourself as there will always be someone who class you as there type, be it the eyes smile , personality, looks a combo of all. Just feck it love thebskin your in and the rest can sit and swivel |

There's a book called " your not a before picture" and the author talks about this a lot, its quite an interesting read on how women are portrayed, how the diet/fitness industry is one of the most successful unsuccessful business in the world. She even talks about how women are portrayed in Disney movies down to the baddies always been overweight and ugly. That we are literally teaching our children to be successful happy etc you have to look a certain way

"I think we can all agree women have been more harshly judged and forced to conform for a lot longer than men. Doing either is wrong though."
That's my point, it shouldn't be acceptable for anyone. |

I wouldn't agree with that ... for centuries we were encouraged not to feel, express of even entertain emotions..
From gay to sports to church to construct to business ... men have been unable to be themselves for a long long time. |

The difference is in who had the power to enforce or change perhaps
And most of those 'social cages' are self-made |

The few had the power ... no men in general but the few... social changes are always self made no matter male or female ... I see how woman have been under control for want of a better word for years ... so have men , they just wouldn't admit it ... |

"Jesus I've no idea how I would describe myself. Mom bod, average & sagging in places ..lol
What I don’t get is why the ‘Mom Bod’ isn’t championed as much as the ‘Dad bod’.
Is the Dad bod championed? I think men are under more pressure than ever to have a gym honed physique, whereas women are allowed to "embrace their curves"
Perhaps the drive for female body positivity is driven by centuries of women being judged first and foremost by their physical appearance.
I don't doubt it, but it's interesting that it isn't applied equally to men.
Perhaps because men have not faced the same judgement for centuries
Not in terms of physique, men are judged in other ways"
Of course. But I was speaking purely about physical appearance. |

Looks pretty dam fine from where I'm standing
Lol.. thanks. In fairness I'm very comfortable with how I look, but Damn.. your profile is hot.. now abs like that would intimate the hell out of me though
Intimate is not the reaction I look for haha.
But seriously is that a thing? Would a woman be intimidated because a guy is too fit?? Not that im saying I am. But if I am my head balances it out
I'm only speaking for myself, but ya, too fit & hot would intimidate me, I like to be the hottest in the room
This is a terrible terrible development lolol
Lol, well humor does ease intimidation for me "
