In fairness not everyone is telling the truth with their descriptions
Met a couple and he had no pictures on their profile but was described as athletic
He was bigger than me so unless dart players are athletes then he was telling lies

Im completely with you on that one. Have always been self conscious about my weight and never message anyone who describes themselves as athletic because of it |

If people are taking the time to chat with you then why deny yourself the opportunity to make a connection because they have a different body size or shape?
As a short fat woman, I do understand the doubts because I have them myself but my preference leans towards tall toned men, so if someone shows themselves to be genuinely interested I'd be cutting off my nose to spite my face if I didn't allow myself to interact with them. |

The thing is, I had to really examine my motives when it came to meeting other women and couples. A long time ago, in another life, when my then partner suggested a threesome with another woman my only criteria was that she wasn't slimmer than me. I saw nothing wrong with that at the time until recently I examined why I said that. I was protecting myself. In my head, so long as she wasn't slimmer than me then she wasn't a risk. He wouldn't fancy her more than me. Older wiser me now realises how incredibly insulting that was.
Now I take the opportunities, if I find someone attractive I don't allow myself to be hamstrung by their size label |

My wife is a curvy lady I would describe myself as average. I love a curvy lady why people think stick insect thin people are sexy is beyond me a lady is ment to have a nice ass and nice boobs and part of that is having the odd love handles too don't be ashamed of or embarrassed by curves most ot the sexiest women in history had curves and a full figure . Look at all the nude paintings all vileptous ladies . So shake that big ass and get those big boobs out |

It's really not nice to put down someone for their size regardless of which end of the spectrum they're at. It's perfectly possible to enjoy and appreciate one thing whilst not insulting another |

I'm so glad you said this. I only had this conversation with a friend last night. We don't need to put one down to lift the other up. All bodies are beautiful in their own way and everyone is allowed be attracted to whoever they are attracted to.
To answer the OP my confidence has come on a huge amount in the last few years but I still have doubts when someone athletic messages me. I have to remind myself that they are the ones that messaged me. |

Exactly I do a lot of physical work and i am fairly well tooned . Some people comment on it when we meet I just say to them this is who I am you are who you are if everyone was the same shape and size the world would be pretty boring. |

Look at it from the other side. You might be judging the slim or athletic person and making the assumption that they are only interested in other slim athletic people but more often than not that's not true.
I don't have a type when it comes to body shape. My type is based on how we interact.
If we are relaxed in each others company with a similar sense of humour that's much more important.
Everyone has hangups of some sort.
I'm approaching 60 and happy with how I look but I'm not an energiser bunny so that will put plenty of women off.

I've always insisted that any partners for 3some couldn't be slimmer than me but that is because of my own insecurities. No matter how many times my fwb tells me that he is turned on by my body I struggle to believe him and always think that I'm satisfying a fetish for someone if they are messaging me. I've found this site to be much more welcoming than general society though. I do think there's a huge difference between curvy and fat though. I describe myself as fat or large cos I think if I said curvy it'd misleading. Curvy women can still have flat stomachs for example |

I have struggled with my body image all my life, over years of rejection, nasty comments made about my size, I learnt to make the comment before someone else did, ' oh hi I'm blonds. The fat funny one" and for years would never ever had expected any guy who I found attractive have interest in me ( I still struggle with this) but since joining fab and I'll be honest really only since the camping weekend in August do I feel like I am attractive and I'm just as beautiful as anyone else here and
I can see the difference in my attitude and my outlook to fab. For a long time i couldnt understand why anyone was interested in me but a few fab friends have helped me realise a few things and this little butterfly has found her wings xx

Those that abuse you, most likely have their own insecurities that they are projecting onto you.

I'd bet that 99% of hurtful comments or messages come right after that person was rejected by you - its childish & says more about them than anything else |

Me and my other half are both big.. I get horrible comments all the time but I also get some amazing uplifting comments too..
I will admit when I see athletic or toned in the description I always think oh they won't want me but it would suprise you how many guys like girls with lumps and bumps..
I've realised lately to just be myself, let my personality do the talking as such and if they like me they like me regardless of my size and shape x |
