Don't mean to be too morbid, but heck it's the month of Halloween and sure we might as well...
Now just wondering is there any daily phrase or regular saying that you use that you'd seriously consider having etched upon your headstone??! |

Realistically, bearing in mind the escalating cost of living that will rise exponentially over future decades; and the cost of of traditional funerals, it is highly unlikely that I will be buried in a plot, but burned and cast to the wind at the top of Slieve Donard.
However, I am an avid daily reader of obituaries in The Times, and in the Irish Times each weekend.
I am not sufficiently eminent nor exalted to ever appear in either of these papers, but I would hope (and anticipate) that I may be briefly recalled as a person who was always honest, truthful, selfless and dedicated to improving the lives of others prior to any thought of my own enrichment or adulation.
Realistically, I will be forgotten forever within days of my final departure |

There will not be a marble headstone; I shall be cremated, and cast to the wind in the Mournes.
Out of sight; out of mind.

"Here lies the worst swinger finally got her on her back.."
Pity the undertaker is the only person to take that credit… unless he flipped you over in the coffin before closing the lid |

Old Stan and Elsie were getting on in their life .
And the bedroom dept hadn't been the best over the years. So he decided to get head stone for Elsie.
It read "here lies Elsie cold as usual".
But Elsie Also decided to get one for Stan
"Here lies Stan stiff at last". |

Reading obituaries is very educational, because it demonstrates how the dead person used the critical opportunities that they were afforded, how they coped with vicissitudes in their lives, and how they contributed to their death |
