If anyone here isn't pairing up their socks using the socktopuss then the second half of your life has yet to begin. Paired up as they are hung up, easy to pull in 8 pairs in a flash if it starts to rain, and a superiority complex included |

Try not to have big items like sheets in with clothes. They take up too much of the line. So separate wash.
I'm pedantic about washing socks. Will sort them before washing. Two go in, two come out!....The Mrs likes to watch the world burn! |

"No outdoor lines for me.
Don't like the idea of all my lovely clean things out in the elements for birds, bugs and bad weather to dirty them up again."
I prefer to hang them outside rather than have the dryer chewing electricity. Obviously timing is everything in the Irish climate! |

I use those too, but they do increase the humidity in the house. |

Smalls on the inside, bigger stuff to the outside.
All pegs per item must match each other and the item they're holding on the line
Socks pegged by the toes, knickers by the gusset, tops and shirts by the hem, trousers by the legs and everything inside out so as not to get marked by the line or the pegs.
One side of the whirly line for each person so it's easier to sort when the washing is brought in.
Bloody military operation |

Do you not open windows in the colder months? In saying that I'd only be opening the bathrooms and bedrooms for an airing, the downstairs gets sorted by the doors being left ajar for the doggo and by kids that think they have an invisible butler |

Seperated and hung in different groups for sure. Sooooo much easier for piling them up when putting it all away |

Of course I do, with rain falling outside most of the time, this increases the humidity |

I see it as fresh air moving as opposed to standing air or stale, moisture on surfaces not getting cleaned or aired out etc but heyho
Some put little dishes of water near their radiators for this too, to counteract their central heating. Not me though, never had a need, guess I know why now |

Moisture levels outside are invariably higher in winter where I live, except in the event of (increasingly rare) cold snap. Yes I open windows to let stale air out, but it doesn't diminish dampness, the only way to reduce that would be having heating on full blast all winter. Hey ho, that's life in a damp climate |

I'm a of an OCD pegger. There's about 3 different types of pegs in the basket and various colours of each. The type and colour of peg simply cannot be mixed on one item of clothing. It's a rotary line and ideally each section of line will have the same type of pegs all the way over. Anyways, hit up my inbox if you're interested in some pics of me involved in some pegging and I'll arrange it |
