Phoenix park...bucketing down one autumn
Only so long you can shelter under a tree as it was coming sideways anyway
Just walked out into it and didnt have a care
You can only get so much wet |

I was working down on Kerry, near Fenit a few years ago. The house was right on the coast and we were working outside. Well there was a storm blowing in from the Atlantic and it’s the coldest I’ve ever been. I was blue and shaking when I got in out of it. |

At a Fab party once all the girls were squirters it was like a monsoon had descended in Balbriggan! There was awful heavy showers that night and one guy jumped in muddy puddles |

A SAR training day when the weather deteriorated and there was a massive thunderstorm.
Radios stopped working and I was the only one left out in the mountains.
I couldn't see the control point and because of that decided to walk out to safety.
The river I had walked through 4 hours earlier was waist deep.
I was wearing £800 worth of waterproof gear and still soaked to the core. |

Went hiking with 2 friends in the Mourne's. First day was beautiful and we had a great/tough 7 hour hike. However on the 2nd day holy Jasus did it rain,an absolute deluge. We stopped after a few hours. I got so wet I even had to change my underwear in the car park, still in the pissing/sheeting rain |

The Kingdom |
In Florida.
Just landed in the airport, only one in my group not wearing shorts and there was a tropical thunder shower.
You could not see 10ft in from of you with how dense the rain was.
One brave person ran out into it to get the car and immediately lost sight of them. |

The sunday after the NW200 about 20 years ago. Got caught out on the way to carrick a rede ropebridge and was drenched to the skin by the time i got to it, just stomped across and back without so much as a glance downwards as
A) i didnt care anymore and
B) it was tipping it down so much you couldnt see the bottom anyway.
This was in full leathers too...
The ride back to Derry was a stinker. |

Newry Down |
In 1983, an exceptionally unusual rainstorm over south Down occurred which temporarily brought the sky to almost complete darkness, accompanied by the most torrential rain I have ever encountered; the rain could not have been more intense and lasted about an hour! |

Far far away |
In Sydney where its always sunny.. That day it was a torrential downpour.. My white work shirt became transparent and I slid across the high gloss floor of the work foyer (high tech company so quite posh) in my rain soaked sandles to land arse down in front of my boss... Plus he got an eye full.... Not my finest moment... |

Last year. Derry. The woman I was seeing had left her house keys at a family members house that we had been visiting.
We only discovered this when we got back to her house as a cloud burst happened.
She went for the ten minute round trip to retrieve them in the pelting rain. I tried to seek shelter under the eaves of her home.
I got soaked to the skin.
So did she, on her journey.
When she returned, the two of us thought it’d be fun to share a shower to warm up.
We peeled off our wet clothes and stepped into the hot shower in her bathroom.
It was sexier in our heads and in films!
She got claustrophobic because of the closeness in a confined space.
I got grumpy because I was getting colder because I wasn’t getting the warm water.
It wasn’t the horny experience either of us had imagined.

My most memorable experience of being caught in the rain was a few years back I the Midlands a lady I used to play with.we both loved outdoor fun the lady had the keys to nice quiet out of the way cottage down a country lane. ?? that Saturday morning will stick In my mind.the madness got the better of us in the summer rain and to top things off the lady in question was a squirter.getting soaked never felt so good. |

Decades ago, on a cycling holiday in the Ardennes, where the famous Battle of the Bulge took place, we got caught out in a bad downpour; a couple took pity on us and gave us the use of their holiday home for the night: really decent delightful people. |

Was out cycling in a group when the heavens opened not long after starting. Despite waterproof gear got soaked to the skin. By the time I finished I couldnt feel my fingers or feet. Despite a warm shower it took hours to warm back up again |

Somewhere in Co. Down |
The last time I got caught in really heavy rain and wind was walking back along the little train track from the giant's causeway to where the car was parked. Walking against the wind and rain was interesting to say the least in such an open spot. But a good waterproof jacket and better company made the experience a lot nicer than it should have been . |
