So, I'm googling this as my teen has expressed an interest, and I was wondering if it would make a nice Christmas gift.
Now everything can be sold obviously but how safe is it on one hand considering there's chemicals involved and how complicated - and I'm talking dexterity and fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination (diagnosis with dispraxia)?
Any professionals, nail technicians or those who do their own on a regular basis with advice, please?
Thank you

I found acrylic nails trickier to do than gels. The smell can definitely be a factor then getting the liquid to powder ratio right takes some practice. Tips are better to work with as a beginner instead of forms. You can buy from reputable places within ireland but a lot are trade only which require proof of qualification to purchase. |

Ok, smelly stuff isn't gonna go down well, sensory issues...so that resolves that query.
What about gel nails? I think they require a UV light, I remember having them done once or twice years ago? Would they be easier to do yourself?
Thanks for that |

Gel nails definitely easier than acrylics. Am trained in girls and its all about practice. Have a look for weekend courses maybe and tbh YouTube might be as good as any to start with. |

Yes i found gels far easier to do and with the LED lamps and that now its a lot quicker to cure. Just takes a bit of practice. As with the acrylics tips rather than forms are great to start off with. There would be plenty of tutorial vids on youtube. And can use gel polishes with them |
