When Im feeling low I have a few questions, that when I reflect on them, force my brain into positive thinking. I thought Id share them.
You dont have to answer them here... but if you are feeling down or anxious or overwhelmed give it a try.
Ive a selection and I try to answer 3 every night. It helps to find the good things, however small they seem.
My loved ones are proud of me because....
3 things that went well today were...
I feel happiest when.... |

In a world that sometimes seems a little crazy, trying to remain positive can be hard at times. Good post OP and hopefully it will spread a bit of hope. |

Positive thinking is like exercise, the more you do it, the easier it becomes,
It's always easier to do something the wrong way, but so much more satisfying when its done the right way, the same applies to thoughts, its so easy to let negativity in and occupy your mind, force it out with Positives, it will seem difficult to start, but like a muscle it will grow with exercise!

There’s a word for that: EUNOIA
"My loved ones are proud of me... "
If you have someone to love end they are proud of you, even for only one little thing…..that’s a lot, is it not?
Lovely post…. |

For me I just have to look at little Michael. I've been blessed with him and he cheers me up whenever I'm feeling down. He's a work of art with his gentle curve, dashing good looks and when he winks, oh when he winks... Sigh |

It’s mad to think that we have to make an effort to remember the positives in life yet we can count off the negative without even thinking about them. There have been a few studies that show that there’s a ration of 3:1 where 3 good experiences are needed to overcome 1 bad experience. So if one was having a particularly bad day then it could take a few days to over come this.
Very often it does boil down to the little things in life that cheer us up. Be they spending time with family, dogs included, taking 5 minutes for a cuppa in peace or whatever it is that works for you.

I've done a parenting course through the HSE years ago (the incredible years - highly recommend it) and we were taught that for every negative comment/scolding/punishment 5 positive things would be needed to bring back balance for the children...
But mindfulness (and meditation) is a fabulous practice.
I would often try to cite 3 things I'm grateful for...
