Dublin airport queues

Does anyone know if the long queues and wait times at dublin airport have calmed down. I am flying to Italy at 6am on the 24th Sept. Does anyone know what time I would need to be there if the long queues are still occurring please.

I dropped off a relative this morning at 4am for a 7am flight, no delays and baggage wasn't lost, it seems to have improved on a few months ago

General advice is to be there 3 hours before fight time

I was at Dublin airport today, twice ; the crisis has abated and effective action has been taken by DAA to rectify the checkin situation, from that horrendous day when over 1,000 missed their flights

All back to normal and going smoothly. I work for an airline in the airport. I wouldn't check a bag in. Its not dublin that's the issue it's the handling agency the other side.

Through it recently gave myself 3hours. From when I walked in to the building to getting airside it took 20 mins at maximum. Have never been through check in, security etc as quick, I know of several other who went in July/August who had the same experience…

Makes you think what were they at pre covid ? I’d say the place is/was rotten to the core with union’s and people get family and friends jobs

Youghal

Have been there regularly and the use fastrack so no queues. The only queue was at Ryanair bagdrop (have to check a bag with work equipment). Having said that I never thought I'd be praising Ryanair but it was well managed and was no more than 5 min in the queue.

South Dublin

We’ve been through a few times in the last two months and things appear to be back to normal. We followed the advice of leaving three hours and longest wait was 25 mins.

Flew out on Tuesday. Got an email from Ryanair the night before warning of delays to security. Arrived 3 hours before flight and was through security in 15 mins.

Nothing wrong with Ryanair as long as you stick to their guidelines/rules. It’s when you don’t you get the idiot tax and then people complain

There is a special badge you can get for your son (and yourself ) which can help if he gets stressed...there's a form to fill out and they send a lanyard with a badge (something along the lines of VIP flyer etc)...its similar to those lanyards that people with autism have, so might be useful to help reduce the stress?

And they also have a sensory room available after security, in case you need that.... Best thing to do is search for Dublin Airport autism and the first link should show how to apply for the lanyard

Weekends are normally busier, so is the early morning slot when all the cheap flights take off. However I wouldn't worry too much, it really has calmed down and 3 hours before flights are well sufficient respectively on the too much time to kill side.

My experience this August was fine with the exception of arriving back in Dublin and my luggage wouldn't come for ages, I think it was about 1 1/2 hours waiting. It did my head in. Responsible for the luggage was Sky Handling Partners who are still struggling with lost baggage and staff shortages. Their counter was completely clogged up with people filling lost bags.

If your baggage is handled by swissport, Aerlingus or Ryanair you should be ok.

You should be grand. Just follow the directions from staff and you will “fly” through security.

Was a bit mad a couple months ago.

But all flowing well now.

Enjoy your trip

"Any dogging around the backroads beside the airport? "

Highly unlikely. There are regular patrols by Gardai, marked and unmarked.

Anytime I've flown over past 6 weeks (at least 5 flights) for the early morning flights it's been maximum 30 mins to get through, it's the bag drop area that has has a longer queue time

I suspect that the Aer Lingus (IAG) computer system has been hacked and also possibly subjected to a malware or ransomware attack, today!

Some people waiting 13 hours for their flights yesterday only to be told to go home, the media knew all flights were cancelled but many people waiting were not informed by airport staff, Aer Lingus are a disgrace, Ryanair far superior never thought I'd say that..
