Do profiles go stale on here
Jump to: Newest in thread
Just something we were wondering over the weekend. Is it possible a profile goes stale on here? We are here over 4 years and have had our fun, but we just wonder is it worth deleting and creating a brand new profile. We do update ours regularly, it's only a thought and would like to hear others thoughts on this. We know there's the whole loosing verifications and starting all over again issue too. |

There's no real benefit from deleting simply to start over.
You can take a more radical approach to updating your existing profile such as a new name, completely different bio, different pics etc and still have the benefits of already being verified. |

We'd update our bio as our experience grows and our preferences change. Also add pics now and then to keep it fresh and of course adjust our age range upwards as we get older. Others seem to adjust downwards for some strange reason!
Nothing worse than reading "Update 20/3/2014" on a bio
No benefit in deleting and starting over, as others have said. |

I add an odd photo now and again but could probably do with a tidy up or overhaul…..
If I was to start again I wouldn’t delete my profile, I don’t see the advantage, just delete everything on it and start again. |

The most successful FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) regularly have their packaging updated and advertising campaigns are modernised, and use the most modern media to target their consumers: successful fabswingers can learn from this focused professional approach! |

I changed my profile name a few years ago, and i went from zero messages to a few a week. I update my profile as the mood takes me sometimes changing my preferences, regularly changing profile pics, and posting a status update every now and then. It brings attention to my profile. What happens after that is at the whim of solar flares, Mars and Saturn alignments, and the vagaries of fabbers. |

Exactly this, I'm constantly changing my pics and bio as I evolve on here.
I think it's really important to keep everything fresh and up to date.
As your preferences change so should your profile

"Feck it, this has inspired me to update mine at last.
Are you 49 or 50-something? "
I'm 50 - I just realised that I'd mistyped my DOB when entering my details. Now updated - thanks for the headsup! |

Some fabbers have no need to update their profiles because they have successfully amassed a retinue of friends with benefits, FBs, etc., and are so busy that their schedules are full to overflowing! |
