Surprisingly haven't seen a thread here about Sam, 2 impressive wins in the Vuelta so far, and a 5th in the European Championships with a poor lead out..was it a mistake he didn't ride on the Tour??... Comments? |

"You're on the wrong site if that's the type of riding you're into
Well played sir "
To be fair, going by all the posts about not getting meets, it might be the only riding a lot of men are getting here. |

Possibly although form leading into the tour wasn’t great so it was understandable to not pick him |

In fairness I don't think he had the form for the tour and it was well flagged that van aert was going for green in the tour so was probably the better option to wait for the vuelta. Disappointing that we had no Irish in the tour but 2 stage wins in vuelta is great so far |

It was a tough Tour and very doubtful he would have got to Paris.
Wise decision to keep him working on his strength and conditioning.
Unfortunately this year's rainbow jersey won't be coming home to Ireland.
Too punchy a course for Sam

He’s been injured most of the year and hard to second guess the team manager who watches his form every day. Having said that it’s great to see him back to winning ways and if he can get an injury free season he’s up there with the best. |
