The lovely girls episode of the incomparable Father Ted series, should have spelled the demise of the Rose of Tralee after the 1996 competition.
Even though it is somewhat outdated it appears to be exceptionally popular in the Republic. |

It's more than a lovely girls competition and actually a celebration of disapora. To listen to these "lovely accomplished amazing and professional girls" may actually persuade you differently. The number of PhD holders on stage may change public opinion that in fact its more than an outdated cliche people precieve. |
