This day 41 years ago was the first concert at Slane Castle with Thin Lizzy headlining.
Were any of yous there?
Favourite act you've seen at Slane if you've been?
What band/artist would make you suffer through that walk home to do it all again these days?

"Queen, The Bangles, Chris Rea 1986...the sleeping in a field the night before and hitching a lift back home the next day..what an experience, and what a concert"
Qhi would i suffer that for now???
Not one band/person....Im too old for those shenanigans nowadays i need my hotel bed before and after a gig |

"REM supported by Oasis in 1995 ....great gig...horrible venue..never back since "
Was at that too. Weren’t the cranberries also on the bill.
The only way to do slate is helicopter in and VIP exit out as soon as last chord is struck.
Think the gig finished at 11 and we were still walking for the buses at 1:30. The amphitheater and castle view is pretty spectacular but the access is a nightmare |

Been to a few. Went to Madonna with 2 free tickets and even that didn’t make it tolerable. Easily the worst.
Best was the foo fighters with queen a close second. 2 very different bands at 2 very different times. It rained for both. Would go to see either there again in the morning but only if Freddie was still up front for queen. |
