We are planning a weekend visit to Dublin in September.

1.How much is bus fare from say a couple miles out into city centre ?

2. What time do buses stop running ?.

3. How much would a taxi be approx to a couple miles out from city centre. ?

somewhere

Taxi's are nearly impossible to get late at night

Everything else depends on what part of the suburbs you're staying in as there are late night buses called nightlink as well as a service that normally finishes at 11.30

1, Bus fare is 2.80, I can recommend and nice reasonable hotel on the luas line

2. Busses stop at midnight but some routes run all night, the luas runs all night

3. I live 15k from the center and it costs 30 to get a taxi home

Pm me if you have anymore questions

Could be a typo but just to point out that the Luas does not run all night. It starts at 5am and stops at 1am. There is a push to get the Luas to run all night and a less frequent basis. 30 mins intervals for example after 1am because there is a massive demand for people getting home safely (people out socialising, working in restaurants etc) but of course in this country, the NTA has come out saying they cannot it do it because they need 4 hours for cleaning and maintenance . Dublin Luas is way behind the times when compared with other European cities it is claiming to be on a par with.
