Family friendly things to do in county Cork

We are all about the cork family days out. Fota wildlife park is fab, and the gardens next door are a nice walk and free. Also Leheys open farm in Dungourney if a good day out and have their own yummy ice cream at the end. Fitzgerald Park has the best playground. There is a great free skatepark in Carrigaline. Also daytrips to Kinsale, and spike Island is fun too. The Aura Leisure centre (always referred to as Oral Pleasure between ourselves) in Youghal is great for kids, and the beach is great too. The beach in redbarn is great as you can drive straight on to it and you don't have to hike all the kids crap a long way. Blarney castle gardens are a great kids walk with lots to see. Mahon point shopping centre on Thursday mornings for a lovely farmers market with tons of great treats. There is the onmiplex there too with loads of big screens. There is a creche there too and a play area on the 3rd floor which is free. Monkey maze in Glanmire is a great soft play for the smallies, and airtastic trampoline park in little island for the bigger kids. |

Cork, you have been kind to us for our little getaway . The weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold...
Fota Wildlife Park, the quirky little town of Cobh, scenic Kinsale, we enjoyed the farmer's market and some shopping in Mahon point shopping center.
I'm even more eloquently spoken after having kissed the Blarney stone .
My favourite destination was indeed Blarney Castle and the beautiful gardens. I could have gone back again and again!
When time and WiFi permitted, logging into Fab - curious to see who's nearby - there wasn't even a pesky FAF message ...or should I be disappointed?!
So thanks to all for your recommendations and input |
