My favourite American conservative conspiracy salesman Alex Jones has been ordered to pay $49m to the parents of the victims of the sandy hook massacre, who he repeatedly claimed were "crisis actors" and that the whole thing was a hoax. I've heard several people here supporting his news site 'Infowars'. I'm wondering if this verdict has changed any opinions? |

Its fantastic to watch especially when he was told about his lawyer giving the full phone log of his messages away by mistake
I've never seen any of infowars previously so I logged onto his website yesterday and browsed it
My god.....you'd want to be a right thick cnut to believe any of it |

Nope. Always thought he was a scumbag. Still think he's a scumbag. Already people online saying oh it was all fixed, verdict decided before the trail etc, judge was biased blah blah blah. He is nothing more then an con man catering to hate and paranoria and making $800,000 a day off it. He's also a terrible person in general. Check out what he did to his ex wife and how he harassed her during his kids custody trail (which he unfortunately won) |

You'll find a surprising number of people who get their news there rather than those who use what they call the "MSM" (main stream media). They are the same people who call others who don't believe snowflakes, or sheeple. They are easy enough to spot from the rhetoric. |

Best bit of TV I watched all summer.
He has filed for bankruptcy during these proceedings.. hopefully that will be denied. Plenty more cases are in the pipeline against him too.
But yes unfortunately to many people believe his bile |

Yeah he deserved every bit of it, glad to see justice has prevailed
Sooner or later everyone gets what is coming to them, he’s been running his mouth with zero consequences for years, now time for him to take his medicine |

The problem is his supporters are also hassling that family and others…
They are like rabid dogs who believe whatever that dung troll spouts and are riled up atm saying the trial was fixed and everything is false news….
Oh America you were once beautiful, full of hope freedom and promise of the dream as we gazed across the sea at you…. Now you are like an ugly bitter Ex that we want to ignore but can’t and just look on in horror as you self implode and go backwards |

It's quite likely he doesn't believe any of his own bullshit but knows there's a market for it and done well from pedalling it |

I sincerely believe that's true. He made a very successful business out of the formula and didn't care what effect it had. |

Easy guy to ridicule right now but he has a dangerous presence online. I have friends and family members who listen and read this shit and believe parts of it. It's a slippery slope, he spreads enough shit and some of it eventually sticks to people |

And their 2nd amendment gun rights….
That is why He said it was all fake news…
That it was a prelude to the Government taking their precious guns away.

Deluded nutjobs like Alex Jones and David Icke, should be taken out of circulation for ever; they do believe what they are saying, but they are clearly demented.
The family will probably never see a cent, but they have had a victory for their child, and for US society, who are taken in by Alex Jones's BS.
A victory for common sense |

I'm with David Icke when he says the royals are giant lizards.
He was right about Jimmy Saville |

I have always assumed that David Icke's ranting about the world elite who are shape-shifting giant lizards, child abductors and r#pists, is simply a metaphor.
I went to one of David Icke's so-called lectures in Belfast years ago, and I quickly became convinced that Icke is mentally unwell; saner people have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
The look of shock on the Infowars champion's face in the US courtroom, when it was revealed that his defence team had sent all of his phone traffic to the prosecution, allegedly inadvertently, must go down in history as one of the most shocking jaw-dropping moments in US legal history.
When the full damages are announced that will be the second; and there may be further to come!

A member of an esoteric Christian sect, that I used to regularly meet before the Covid pandemic, was an enthusiastic follower of (literally) everything that Alex Jones and the Infowars site broadcast online.
A lot of people, and not just in the United States, were taken in by this lunatic's bilge! |

The verdict and the whole trial hasn’t changed anything for me. He’s mad as a box of frogs while being widely entertaining, that needs to get back to his early days when he was right and not throwing muck and hoping it stuck.
Although some of the msm coverage has been shocking but I’m not surprised by either side of the fence though anymore.
I also highly doubt he will pay the $49m as Texas law doesn’t allow it to be that high, it will most likely be reduced at appeal and then once he sues his defence team and their insurance payouts will cover most. |

I doubt this verdict will change anyone's views on Alex Jones regardless of how they previously viewed him.
He doesn't exactly have moderate followers that will take this into consideration vs anything else he decides to spew |

A lot of his hardcore followers are not happy with him, now if that’s long term or short who knows?
He has tried to work his ticket during the trial and back down from some things he said and their raging he would back down from it and to the system they believe their fighting. |

Bizarrely, I had a very long conversation today with a couple from Texas who had arrived in Belfast on a very exclusive cruise ship; they were wholly unaware of Alex Jones, Infowars or the trial, but were acutely aware of all the school shootings. |
