Today should have been my 21st wedding anniversary and it filled with such mixed emotions. Happy memories mixed with heartache of loss! Anyone been through similar and what do you do on days like these…

I go out for a really long walk in one of my favourite locations; burn off all that emotional energy, have a nice meal and a shower and retire to bed, contented that I tried my best, at that time!

Grief is a normal part of life, especially around anniversaries. Whatever you’re feeling now is totally legit. It’s ok to be sad/mad/angry or whatever. I’ve found working with a counsellor and finding good support groups to be essential to healing. I hope you're ok today.

Be gentle to yourself and do what you need to do to get through that day… go for a walk and keep busy or just allow yourself a few hours to just feel
