A place where others reside

In a similar position OP. Watched S1 ages ago and for some reason stopped. Just piling through S2 at the moment and wow!

Ep 6, 7 and 8 were brilliant!

Left the season finale for tomorrow night.

Yeah, hope they turn around the production times as the kids aren’t really kids. S4 was delayed partial by Covid so hopefully the Duffer brothers used the downtime to get S5 written and into pre-production.

Regardless, it’s worth the wait and the attention to detail and subtle little homages to the iconic films of the 70s and 80s is absolutely amazing. Loving Jaws, the fact the Hawkins PD uniform is based on the Amity uniform is class! Loving Alien/s then the multiple nods include the eggs in S1 and Hicks reference in S4 is great. Loving Predator, the fact that the Hoppers name was inspired by the lost squad that Dutch and his unit finds is great.

Then there is just the heavy Stephen King influence in every single episode and even on the title card.

The Duffer Bros were probably gutted that they didn’t get the It directing gig, but ironically they have used it to motivate them to make something that has a bigger audience and critical/commercial success.

Sorry, geeked out there but really enjoyed it

I think the duffer brothers are directing the movie adaptation of the talisman which was also a very cool and trippy 80's coming of age story by King & Peter straub

Very cool. Haven’t read that in more years than I’d care to confess but if memory serves it was a bit strange, even for a King novel during his substance abuse period. Not sure how it’ll translate into a film (much like The Dark Tower) but if they have the directing chair then living in hope!

Middle of season 3 with daughter. Cool daddy daughter time, in a wholesome way

Really enjoying watching it again.

Too many childhood memories!

Excellent series. It's a really good homage to the 80s and films like The Goonies and ET.

The series matures nicely alongside the cast growing up.

A place where others reside

How's everyone getting on with Stranger Things??

I'm onto the penultimate episode of S4. No spoilers for anyone in the earlier seasons but the last 2 episodes of S4 equate to more than 4 hours of television. It's essentially going to be like 2 movies back to back.

Left it late to binge on and keep passing the Stranger things Experience near Brent Cross.

Glad I left it late as it started mirroring things happening today.

Watched the pencil snap episode day after the wand is broken at The Queens funeral amongst other details in other episodes.

Like how some of the obnoxious characters become likeable, Steve in Scoop Ahoy brilliant. Max came a focul character.

Love the friendship and love bridges get made and broken and Metallica pop in near the end. Half expected Bat out of Hell.

Picked up on all the other horrors of the past Salem's Lot, It, War of the Worlds, Aliens and little known Oliver Reed movie "These are the damned" worth a watch.
