This new attraction is in Avondale Forest Park, which is Cuillte owned/run - they always have charged for parking...or at least for as long as I can remember.

I presume it's Cuillte's way of getting in some additional funds.

Whereas I was previously miffed about these kind of charges, particularly as this is what taxes are for, it's well worth the visit for the walks alone.

It helps keep the place clean and presentable for all of us to use

Go early and enjoy the beauty of the place so nice and relaxing also they only except card payments and make sure you bring a map up from the bottom for the slide... also book online they send you a qr code in a email and you use it to get into the carpark and tower itself

Live in the area, it's a good place to go to but best time is during the week when there are no queue and plenty of parking, it's madness at weekends and you might not get in

Kildare

After the crowds over the last few weeks from this weekend onwards admission is by online booking only in order to control the numbers they will operate a strict no booking no admittance policy.

I was there on Sunday and Monday gone. Sunday was a nightmare to get into the place and Monday was the total opposite. Just make sure you bring change if you plan on using the slide as on the site it says €2 per slide using cash or contactless but when we were there they only were accepting cash. Also kinda cheeky they charge after ya already pay in and pay for carpark.
