In the place where I am, I am paying 1100 euros for a room without a receipt for taxes. I've been here three months. She’s probably claiming the income under the rent a room scheme. You don’t have the same entitlements as you would under a tenancy lease really. Also, that income her is tax free (if it is under €14,000 PA) and you cannot claim tax credits as they were abolished in 2014.
It’s a shit situation but she is holding all the cards. |
