I probably wouldn't do a week but a day and night maybe. |

Up north on a cruiser last year, first time and loved it. For ye active swingers it’s a super option, especially up north as on Lough Ernes there are loads of piered islands where you can pull in and nobody in sight. Around Portumna also there are loads of spots. For food, bars the south would be better, limited enough up north and more crack down south. |

The sticks |
I've a rib that I use on the Shannon, will eventually upgrade to a cruiser when the body can't take the hardship of a rib any longer.
If you ever fancy a quicker spin around Lough Ree give me a shout |

Getting a permanent place to moor your boat can be the biggest problem and a big expense too depending where your looking to leave it unless your talking dry berth during the winter but that too is not always a perfect solution

I wouldn’t buy. Loads of abandoned boats up north, much better off renting. |

Don’t know exactly what size but it’s only when you are on the water that you see them. Little jetty’s rotting away with boats attached. If one was going to spend 2/4 months on one, fair enough but to purchase is poor economics. |

Boats can be quite costly... like a pet.. they need constant attention and if you don't.. it costs more! Never are they not costing you and soon as you enter a chandelry... the price tags will shock... Quay side fuel price isn't cheap... and whilst gerrymandering cans can be an option, that job n weight will soon piss you off...
Boats look great, but there is a high price.... |
