"What show has/had the best theme tune?
You can't have a thread about theme tunes without mentioning Friends. Love it or hate it, we all know it! "
Too true, but definitely wouldn't be in my top ten. |

Any show with an actual song should be discounted. It’s not a real theme tune. But if I had to pick one, Believe it or not, it’s just me…. The Greatest American Hero. Would consider songs specifically written for the show, eg Different Strokes but, again not really a theme tune.
Another vote here for Airwolf, loved that one.

"The good, the bad and the ugly by Ennio Morricone.
Great choice... anything by Ennio Morricone. Raging I missed seeing him in Dublin."
His son and Orchestra are back in 3Arena later in the year..... |

"Failing that, Halls Pictorial Weekly"
Frank Hall, who was originally from Newry must be deceased at least 30 years. Behind the scenes, he had a colourful love life, including a very long-term affair that was largely kept a secret from his adoring public, until he had passed away. |

"Battlestar Gallatica the old one.
Buck Rogers
Macgyver
The Fall Guy
Hill Street Blues
North and South
Robin the Hooded Man
XFiles
Falcon Crest
"
Good call on Battlestar Galactica but the newer BSG music by Bear McCreary is savage too. Especially the later stuff done with the BSG Orchestra.
Staying on a science fiction theme. Firefly theme song has always been a big favourite of mine.
