So I bought some bits on China and the only delivery option was epacket (their version of an post) but customs have seized my items, some are being destroyed and the rest require payment. Anyone know how to avoid customs for future purposes or am I screwed? |

If you know anyone up north get posted to there and then they post onto you

I ordered a pair of boots that were similar to Doc martens but they apparently infringe of copyright image despite no branding on them. So I had to agree to them being destroyed or go to court for an appeal. Hardly worth it for 30 euro pair of boots |

We’ve ordered a lot off eBay didn’t matter what it was or brand or copy always got delivered no problem |

DHL seem to have a very favourable way when dealing with custom duty as long as you pay the tax in the country of origin and keep invoices under £98 I think there be no issue
And speedy delivery from China and India  o & use a UK postal code |

Buying cheap knockoffs and you don't wanna pay tax either?

Never understood the appeal of a knockoff designer item . Im either going to save up and buy the genuine article or I’ll buy something else that’s as equally nice but more affordable but certainly not counterfeit . Those LV bags and similar ain’t fooling no one |

Hard to avoid customs unless your buying from a private seller that can mark it as a gift or wrap it in wrapping paper for you. I do this when buying parts and stuff from people outside the EU  |

I dont know if it still works after brexit but the parcel motel used to have a "UK" address you could ship to that then got delivered to your local parcel motel and avoided customs that way |

You can rent a postal address in NI and get large parcels delivered there then just drive up and collect or have them posted to you whatever is convenient, That avoids Irish customs completely, they definitely are the strictest customs in the EU, I have many small parcels delivered from China without any trouble, just make sure the item is under 20 euro including delivery and you should have no bother, generally items I buy from China are delivered to Holland or Belgium then reposted to Ireland, customs think its an item being sold between EU countries and allow to enter. |

You cant do that any more via parcelmotel.. you can use asdresspal though. It doesn't stop the customs duty though. They just make you pay it before its delivered, the same as if it was delivered directly from China or wherever. |

If you know anyone on the Irish border , send to them They drive into the republic and post via an post. Packets coming from China are rarely checked in thw north. A lot of knock-offs coming to Ireland that way. |

I didn't buy any designer items, it was actually a baby rocker for a friend but it's design was apparently too similar to a big brand name |
