Hotel prices in Dublin

We're from the North & would love to attend more Envy nights or go to the Vanilla Club but the hotel prices in Dublin are just so high atm!

Around £200 for a basic hotel for 1 night, let alone staying anywhere decent, it's madness!

Even Airbnb is £150+ for a room in a house

Any hidden gems out there?

Newry Down

Ireland is pricing itself out of most international tourism market segments because of the prices being charged; when firms are picking up the tab, hotels are an allowable and legitimate business expense.

Hotels paid out of after tax income are outrageous.

The world has changed forever; the Irish hotel industry needs to get real about its rates being charged to private customers.

There's an Irish politician saying about it last week..... A guy said it was cheaper for him to fly to Rome, stay 1 night and go to a concert there than drive to Dublin and stay 1 night there and go to the same concert.

I actually think it would be cheaper for us to fly to England and go to a club over there, which is a massive shame

Oh yeah 100% believe that, rip of Ireland, total greed. You'd imagine after the hospitality industry took such a battering for near on 2 years that they wouldn't be encouraging people to go overseas with their greed. I was saying surely no one will pay 1,000e for a night in Jury's so would they not be best to drop the rate to a reasonable price and sell the room rather than it be empty? Maybe someone would pay it but jaysis You'd pick somewhere fancier to stay for that price surely.

Total greed, and in my opinion very unrealistic, surely no one will pay 1,000 for 1 night in Jury's?

Louth/M1

We stopped in what they call "homestay" on booking.com! West Belfast and it only has two letting rooms... (£65 each per night) and you get the whole house... Kitchen, dining room, two sitting rooms... one very big and a bathroom.... I'd say take both rooms and you know you have the place to yourself... ideal for party and no owner onside... just yourselves... five minute taxi to centre but you really won't need that maybe... free unrestricted parking outside... sure its not the only place like this!
