An expected response from a Kerry man. Are you seriously saying the capital city and biggest city in the country has nothing to see???

Places in Dublin are lovely and the same around this fine Island in my opinion.

In Dublin, Kilmainham Gaol, Trinity College, Guinness Storehouse to name but a few.

However for me it's the spirit of the people that really advertises Dublin so in the cafes & bars is the place to really find Dublin.

Limerick

We like to do the open top bus tours they are great way of seing the city and you have the day long to hop on and off as much as you like (pun fully intended). As for hotels it's just costly right now, but thats going to be the case in most cities. I agree the Guinness store house with a pint up top is hard to beat. X

Definitely worth a visit. We did a tour 2 weeks ago and it was brilliant. Could pop into Jameson after for a tour and whiskey sampling.

For the evening/night. Upstairs in Nearys is a really lovely spot for a drink and chat with a great atmosphere.

What is the cheapest hotel in the city centre? I'd love to give a weekend in Dublin but the prices keep putting me off. Like anywhere I travel I just want a clean room with a bed and shower. Even if its tiny. That's all.

I suspect if you look online you'd be directed to some place in Gardiner Steet...please dont book any of these....the area is a kip

Hotel prices in Dublin have gone bonkers.

I did stay in a place that had good reviews and nice photos on Gardner street a few years ago - as Bog said - was an absolute Kip.

Kilmainham Gaol, Collins Barracks, Dublin Castle, St Michans Church, Christ Church, The Customs House, tour of Glasnevin cemetery. We have a city rich with history.

The Guinness Storehouse.

Take the DART to Dun-laoghaire or Bray/Greystones for a seaside walk.

Best to stay outside the city and use the luas or bus to go in.
