In stark contrast to the bike fest weekend being the best weekend of the year, the rally weekend is the worst weekend of the year in the town. Generally, if locals are able to head away that weekend, they do.
Despite the best efforts of the organisers asking people to behave responsibly, there is still a huge scumbag following of the rally that ruin it for the genuine lads who follow it regularly.
It's a weekend I do not miss since I left Killarney. |

“Scumbags”. Personally I feel that’s more of a societal issue during any Bank Holiday weekend and can have plenty is assholes in Killarney any weekend during the summer |

I agree to an extent but its always amplified for the rally weekend. You'll see a bigger Garda operation and more hassle on that weekend more than any other throughout the year in the town. It's a known problem and unfortunately it is the few scumbags causing the hassle for the majority of genuine rally fans who follow it everywhere all season. Truly a horrible weekend in town. |
