"It's easy to forget we are on a rock hurtling around a fireball "
Funnily enough...that's one thing I never seem to forget or not think about. Especially with the climate and environmental talk. It reinforces it as the planet is a closed system |

Christ, what is it with the media and the constant fear porn. Every story has to be worse than the previous one. Of course its front and centre with the Mirror.
If it happens we'll deal with it.....maybe my kids will have to talk to me for a change, lol

Nasa's Hubble telescope has determined the comet's icy nucleus has a mass of about 500 trillion tonnes and is 85 miles (137km) wide - larger than the US state of Rhode Island.
But not to worry. The closest it will get is one billion miles away from the Sun, and that won't be until 2031.
It was first spotted in 2010 but only now has Hubble confirmed its existence.
Don't look up |

That's what the media and governments too. Make people afraid of things and each other, lest we realise who's really to blame for society's ills. |

i understand and agree. however...in this instance..from many independent verifiers. this one has an uncomfortable percentage of a chance of having an effect. |

"The last solar flare was in 2012, we already have had one this week but the effects have not been felt yet in any major way. But any solar flare can cause problems. "
no doubt...but 2012 was not a direct splash |
