Kildare

A pint in Temple Bar is around €9 with the possibility of it hitting €10 soon. That may be the top of the price range but going out is getting pricey but would you pay a tenner for a pint I would in me .... pay it.

Vote with your feet, check the prices, and don't go anywhere that takes the piss.

Just heard a mention of it yesterday on the radio. It seems its about €8 during the day but goes up in price at about 1030pm when everyone is less likely to want to move on at that time.

Naas which is South West of Dublin

In an open market where there is lots of choice and competition, where goods or services are provided, a business can charge whatever that want and will charge what the market will bear.

If they charge above what the market will bear people won’t avail of the goods or service and they lose business unless they adjust their prices.

They’re not providing an essential service and there is no shortage of competition or choice.

Personally I wouldn’t pay it as there are lots of more realistically priced alternatives.

It's great to hear what drink costs , a non alcoholic drink is way more expensive than alcohol, don't know what it is in Dublin but at other venues around the country non acholic ,eg 7up etc is more expensive

people will always been drawn to where the crowd is regardless of expense for eg I have no interest going out to a half empty pub.

In other words, you will go where the crowd is

I personally prefer a quieter setting and I would boycott those kind of pubs/prices even though I don't drink much...but then - I'm obviously not their target market... and it is people who allow this kind of extortion - if you were to boycott pubs like this en masse for a few weeks, they'd quickly rethink their pricing strategy and match the competition...

I go out to mingle with women. I'm a single chap. the last place I want too go on a night out is a half empty setting.

The bones of €500, €30 for a double whiskey and , about €8 a pint. Great night, but some fear that morning, couldn't even afford the Subway to the airpot, thank god I had the airport parking paid haha.
