Celebrity deaths that would sadden you

Jump to: Newest in thread

By *og-Man OP   Man  over a year ago

somewhere

you might not watch the latest reality shows on tv or even read about them online but we all know a few celebrities

Seeing the news today about Bruce Willis retiring leads me onto thinking that sooner or later celebrities I admire and respect will eventually like the rest of us pass away

Who's death would give you pause for thought....I have a few but probably David Attenborough would shock me even if he is in his 90's

He really is a living legend

Who's yours

Regardless of the rights/wrongs of a monarchy I think we will all be a bit saddened when Queen Elizabeth II passes.

David Attenborough for sure. And the Queen. I was genuinely saddened at the loss of Betty White and MDH will be a massive loss.

Morgan Freeman?

Meh. Yeah, I'll be more nostalgic than saddened at the loss of David Attenborough as he has continued to contribute to society even in his old age. It'll hardly be much of a shock though.

As for celebrities in general, definitely meh, unless they've had some positive impact on my life.

In relation to the English Queen, I can assure you that we most definitely will not all be saddened, and there are countries in every part of this planet where people will not be in any way saddened, not that I wish on her any of the misery that her governments and military have heaped on nations from our own to Kenya, Malaysia, Yemen and many points in between, all during her reign. In short, she's an old woman the same as any other old woman that I don't know and it won't have any impact on me any more than the death of any other old woman that I don't know, apart from making terrestrial TV channels a no go area for about a month.

Harry Belafonte is someone else that I feel will be a great loss to humanity. In his mid nineties at this point, he has been a campaigner all his life, putting his money where his mouth is and suffering from his strongly held beliefs. A truly great man.

Stars from my childhood who appeared to be immortal at the time.

Schwarzenegger for example or Harrison Ford.

When those people start going, it's a genuine reality check.

This may be offensive to some but from personal experience I feel that men who are greatly interested in that kind of pussy are rarely interested in the other kind. I'm quite sure he's one of the exceptions though.

I'm same, I don't get the whole outpour and especially I'd they are a good age, yes it's sad for their family and friends but if they have lived a good life why should we be sad.

No more than you being upset when he dies.

Like I said I say documentaries on him and he seems really vile in his private life and a nasty person.

Why do you like him apart from his music I'd be interested to know?

Uachtarain Michael D is a genuine guy, who is a respected statesman both here and internationally, whose passing will be sad.

Similarly, Mary Robinson who provided leadership and guidance to so many needed societal changes.

Both punched above their weight, metaphorically.

I would agree, when she visited Dublin a number of years back, I got a great photo of her waving from the car, I actually printed it and sent it to Buckingham Place and to my surprise a letter came back 2 months later

I cried few times when poor Tom Parker died, saddened me more than I thought but then i felt for him throughout his illness.

Never even heard of him before but his story got to me,so young with wife and new family

Dying is one thing but being told your going to die is just beyond words and so common.
