"if anyone here has been circumcised or has considered having it done, can you share what made you wanna do it, was it tight foreskin, overall looks, hygiene?
thanks"
Had an accident and cut my banjo string
It wouldn't heal and bled all the time and picked up infections
Then foreskin got too tight so sex was impossible
Got it done in my 40's and while its completely different to the way it was I can have sex...result
Nothing to do with looks
A bit to do with hygiene
Honestly...doctors have seen everything
If you had a broken arm you'd go to a hospital...if your penis is not right ...you go to a doctor ....no need to be embarrassed if that's what your nervous about at your age |

"could you not have gotten a frenuloplasty when the banjo string broke, or was a circumcision to only option. "
No i left it to long to go to a doctor...like a lot of men I just thought it would heal itself....who needs a doctor after all
Everything tightened so foreskin wouldn't peel back....so off it all came |

Go to your doctor and get a proper medical examination
Google it and you'll see a few clinics that specialise in mens sexual health and circumcision
Go to one if you don't want to see your own doctor |

It was done in hospital after I was born, must have been the nuns pushing it as some guys in my area born the same time had it too.
So I don't ?know life any other way. I'm told it's more like a half and half, lol.
My boys weren't circumcised one had some difficulty as a young fella, but it eventually worked itself out.
I think the while thing is barbaric, but thankfully, I've no recollection of the pain. |

fair yeah, is there any truth to this I've read /heard from people that circumcised dick's lose sensitivity over time due to being inconstant with clothing.

Using products when you wash can make this a lot worse. Only use water, then dry after washing. Foreskins, like vaginas, are sensitive can get reoccurring infections from products that remove your natural protection. |

It probably makes sense that sensitivity would be less for sure with circumcised, but It hasn't diminished my pleasure in any way. |

Yes you definitely lose sensation afterwards except for the few few weeks after the operation
Thats when you realise how much protection your foreskin gives your knob
I used to have to walk around with an actual cotton handkerchief covering my knob for weeks because if it touched off my boxers I'd jump
It then toughens up gradually anyway

Haha, fair comment. I do remember walking like a rodeo cowboy after vasectomy though. |

I had it done two years ago. My foreskin was getting tighter and uncomfortable. The op itself was fine, the recovery was the most painful. Well, not painful as such, just aches and sensitivity. But once that was over I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made! And that first tug after being healed? WOW!! |

"so since you all have been circumcised for a while, would you say its fine or have you noticed any major negatives from it?"
I would say mostly positive. I have enjoyed sex a hell of a lot more and not worried about pain and being uncomfortable. |

i see, so i take it a frenuloplasty wouldn't have helped you then, or did you just want all of it removed? |

Yeah I only use hot water to clean it, I also try and stretch it when cleaning it. I think it might be loosening it, but I'm sure that will reduce over time |

Circumcised as a child for medical reasons. Sexually the feedback has always been generally positive… some women only used to foreskin are afraid to pull hard.
If I’m less sensitive now, I badly needed to get it done!
Nothing barbaric in the practice I’d say if it’s done at birth for traditional purposes and nobody should be criticised for electively getting it done later in life - there’s been criticism of that practice on the forums before; but I can’t see why men should be treated than women having cosmetic work done on their genitalia for their own personal reasons. |

For some weird reason I found reading an article about circumcision just a few days ago. The author decribed vividly his journey of having his foreskin removed in his early twenties due to increased tightness. He said sex was never as good after as it was before due to loss of sensitivity but learned to live with it.
However mostly he complained that he was never informed of all the option out there, ie frenuloplasty and back then not savvy enough to fight his corner.
So op my recommendation is to get all the advise and information needed from a pro rather than fab. Also sometimes it's wise to get a second opinion, doctors are human beings like you and me and their persective and approach can vary widely.
Finally everyone is different and the effects of circumcision can have various outcomes. I had an ex who came rather quick, for same reason as above he was sent for circumcision. So the hope was that it would slow down peaking as a positive side effect. Na, didn't happen, also never heard him saying it feels less sensitive.
Good luck op! |

"Unnecessary medical procedures done on those too young to consent is barbaric in my opinion. "
I’ve personally never met any ‘victim’ of this barbarism that regrets having it done, quite the opposite. Can something be classed as barbaric in the absence of adversely impacted persons suffering regret? This criteria is certainly met in FGM but I’ve never heard male circumcision spoken about in same terms.
Where do you draw the line? Is a young girl getting her ears pierced an unnecessary attack on bodily integrity? Who sets the societally acceptable adult age of consent threshold for ear piercing?
Is ear stretching, lip plates and tattooing practices on children, mostly tribal traditions, to be classed as barbaric or simply cultural difference to be celebrated?
Applying the tag of ‘barbaric’ is stigmatising to those of us circumcised for any reason - as it is ridiculous that we should have to explain the reason for our circumcision in any scenario. While I find the term insulting and stigmatising, I assume that a significant portion of the world’s male population, who class it as part of their cultural identity, would take issue and class such an attitude under other headings.

Yes I'd class lip stretching and tattooing a baby before they were able to choose it for themselves as barbaric also. The key here is consent. Babies can't give it.
That's a very different thing to an adult choosing to get surgery for a condition (or simply for a preference). I don't think you can conflate the two |

You’ve changed from too young to consent to babies. At what age do cultural body alterations stop being barbaric? Is it just lip plates and the like that are different from your culture that are barbaric? What about piercing the ear skin of girls in our culture?
‘Barbaric’ is very charged and condescending language… particularly in the absence of any ‘victims’… colonial snobbery, racism and inability to tolerate difference?
… from Latin barbaricus "foreign, strange, outlandish," from Greek barbarikos "like a foreigner," from barbaros "foreign, rude" |

"Gotta say I struggle with the loss in sensitivity. Takes me far too long to cum. Not as good as it sounds. "
Just like that, the reason why the foreskin is there to protect the glans and keep it sensitive, just like a clitoris is enveloped by a hood, once this hood or skin is removed it becomes dull to sensation resulting in loss of sexual pleasure.. |

Had to get it done for medical reasons and its the best thing I ever did and on the plus side after about 6 months I realised I wasn't cumming as quick ( not the reasons I got it done but a major benefits) I can keep the ladies happier for longer |

Had the opposite effect for me! I’m cumming too quickly! |
