But men whistling while they potter about is such a happy sound.
But why do they do it? And why dont women?
Its a wierd one, enlighten me please if you can.
And keep whistling if you do |

Couldn't tell you the last time I actually heard anyone whistling but I started watching a movie on Netflix last night called Bombardment and the first 3 or 4 mins involve a young lad whistling while he cycled through the Danish countryside.
Seriously haunting with what happens next and especially as it's a true story. |

I can whistle at a higher pitch than I can sing, so if there’s a few high notes, I’ll whip my whistle out |

Lol!! I was in London a while back on a very important “first date”, dolled up the absolute wah, black semi formal mini dress 4in heels hair in a chingon, the works. No chance of a taxi. Let rip a very inelegant whistle and got a taxi in seconds. My date was more than slightly impressed and even the black cab driver commented on it. One of my finest moments. |

There's actually a whistling language on La Gomera, one of the Canary Islands. It developed to allow people to communicate in the deep valleys there.
Nowadays they all just use Fab and Tinder though |

I for one am always singing and whistling to meself, but I've done it since I was a child. Ive never really analysised why I don't but I suppose it just puts a shine on the day and helps time pass more pleasantly. |

Whistling in public in the late 1960s, in 1967, was popularised by a rare worldwide whistling hit record called,
I was Kaizer Bill's Batman by Whistling Jack Smith,
who was actually a member of a famous group called the Mike Samm Singers.
This whistling tune, which got as high as No.2 on some record charts was composed by famous duo, Cook and Greenaway.
