There is more to Dublin than Temple bar. Head up to Wicklow Street/William Street-about a 5 min walk from Temple Bar. Some older style Irish pubs which have never been decorated so are authentic are Keoghs on Anne St South and McDades on Harry Street-near the Wesbury Hotel. Avoid north of the river/ O Connell Steet as there is nothing there for you. Day trip to Dun Laoghaire by Dart Train from Tara St. Big Storm coming on Sat so find a nice pub and get pissed. Food try Gotham on Anne Street south-right beside Keoghs. Good food, good value. Posh drinking-the Shelbourne Hotel on St Stephens Green-all walkable from Temple Bar |
