Enfield & Dublin

At St Valentine’s Day I always think about the 48 people who died and the hundreds of others that were maimed and scarred both physically and mentally in that tragic fire. Fire exits were chained shut which definitely increased the death toll. Please call out venues, shops, factories or any other places where exits are locked or blocked. Call a manager, tell others or call the fire brigade. Don’t let it happen again.

May they rest in peace.

Newry Down

I always used to listen to the RTE radio morning news at that time; and was stunned to hear about this preventable tragedy as its scale unfolded.

Incompetence, recklessness and mismanagement were compounded by negligence, greed and stupidity; the real truth needs to emerge in order to protect those who attend any mass gatherings.
