Clare,

Allo all,

So with a rare day off I'm heading to Dubland to spend a day in the national gallery. Is there any pieces in particular ye'd recommend and why.

It's in a class of it's own if you ask me.

An entirely different style and era but in the portraits section I love what Louis le Brocquy did of Bono

Clare,

"Caravaggio - The taking of Christ"

I have to agree. It was hard to really see the detail with the light bouncing off the glass but a masterpiece. I was surprised that it was in Ireland.

He's gone, Zurich had show there so he was moved into storage. One of the security guards told me Bono isn't a fan of it. He didn't think the nose was accurate or flattering.

The architrave is a top tip. There should be a description of the craftsperson who made them.

I did till I got back to the car at the Red cow. Some bad bastard cut the catalytic converter off the car and I've had to find lodgings here in Dubland.

Its like you have your own language

I had been thinking that I should come to Dublin to see more than hotel rooms and the train station but all this has thoroughly put me off

It should just put you off parking at the red cow . I hear there were feckers doing that to staff in hospital car parks a couple of years back.

Sorry to hear about your shitty experience in the big smoke. I hope you enjoyed the gallery at least.

Here's me tip. Next time leave your car in the countryside at a convenient train station and take the train from there. Saves you a lot of hassle and brings you straight to the city centre.

Oh jaysus, fair play for the offer. I rang the insurance and there's a tow truck on route to the hotel so I'm just waiting on that. But seriously, sound for the offer man.

I day in Dubland and I nearly said brother instead of man

My day was tremendous!, Until about 7 o'clock but look I have to believe life happens for a reason and it's part of some bigger picture, because if I don't I'd go nuts

That is a great tip! Thank you.

Clare,

I'd just like to thank everyone for their kindness. There was a tread earlier in the week asking why people use fab opposed to tinder, the answer is in this tread. Although I'm relatively new everyone has offered me help and kind words because we are here as a community, a band of mischievous brothers and sisters. Tinder, tinder is lone survivor stuff. (I'm running on flumes here so if this reads a bit wanky and American that's the why) thank you all. Sound skins the lot of ye
