Just for some research fory own amusement I went back through my own received mails

.Out of the last 20 , 2 sent more than 1 line and a face pic .

I have to wonder at times how people expect to connect with others when they make such little effort. Same type to moan then about not getting a meet. I think some are under the impression swinging is like ordering from a vending machine.

The other day over a period of a few hours I got these messages from one person Hi,HI, X, Hi,MMF. I replied back congratulations being the laziest sender of messages ever. He actually couldn't see the problem. Like of course I'm going to agree to MMF based on your one word messages

None of the last ten messages we received, most chaps were more than 4 words long.

I do try and explain in a reply that the lack of effort in a message almost guarantees a lack of effort elsewhere. It's not only single guys but the vast majority are

It's not as if a long message is guaranteed to work but the distinct lack of effort is a sure way to go in the deleted pile . I think there are folks on here who feel others are obliged to fuck them after composing a message that takes less than 20 seconds to write. Bizarre !

I wouldn't write more then two lines either tbh. It's a swinging site, not a creative writing site.

If someone requires a novel to be woo'd then that isn't that kind of ego I can handle long term either.

Out of our last 20 we would say two sent less then 4 words in a mail. 1 was fairly disrespectful towards Jay. Most were polite in general.

Tbh, an essay just suggests "copy and paste" to me, have a coffee meet booked with someone whose first message was literally "Hi, how are you guys", the username and a read of the profile were what lead to me a) replying at all, and b) inviting him for coffee

Not looking for a essay just need a bit more then heah, hi, x,

nice tits, wanna peg me, in your area messages. Two lines is plenty if there's a bit of effort put in. We actually aren't looking for that much. I send first messages all the time I keep them very brief but interesting to spark a conversation.

It would have to be a copy and a paste, it's not feasible to do it any other way unless a person wants to spend 24/7 on this website.

Do men spend hours on here sending dozens of messages at a time...do they get replies at all..is it like the Nigerian emails..send millions and get the odd one or Two replies

Is that why you see some profiles that say...out of messages

Men blocked hence inbox relatively quiet.

A few couples who approach us put effort into their messages. Sometimes they're responses to our status updates but usually, well, the usual .

As for the ladies - I think I'd run in horror if we ever got a message of any kind !!!

It's when we respond to a message with a well thought out reply - and it's ignored. Why message in the first place - confused.com...

I hope our profile shows we put time and effort into it and are legit. That is how we treat our outgoing messages!

The messers are then easily sifted through

It's limited of a double edged sword.

If I have to put too much effort into a message it always seems forced so I don't bother sending one.

Sometimes it's a very short message its just to show interest I dont send nor would I want someone life story in an opening message.

Sometimes they are a little longer if there is something specific I wanted to say relating to a forum post or something on their profile.

The vast majority of messages I get range between 1 word and 2 sentences. The profile is usually the deciding factor in my reply tbh

So for discussion sake (not arguments sake) what one word would you sent to someone you have never spoken to before and expect a reply to. Given that it's been pointed out time and time again that we don't want or expect an essay and a couple of words is seen as lazy

Again it depends on the person I'd tend not to send 1 word messages but I did do an experiment once of a tread like this I send thr first 10 women on the women online that I'd never chatted to an x that was it I got like 5 or 6 replies so it might not work for all but it does for some

Yeah honestly a silly comment showing a hint of personality will always get a response. If hard to belive so many can't comprehend the fact that you you should try the same approach you would if we were face to face at a social as an example.

Here I'll give you an example. 2 mins ago I got a message with a dick pic attached saying "Morning sexy ur hot x" . Its not verging on something deserving of a response and while we rarely have our messages fully open this is the general standard when we do.

There's no "one fits all".

I'd hope that if people read our profile, it's wit/humour and sarcasm in a message that'll be a winner...but, to an extent, it has to fit or tie in with the "look"/location and other attributes of your profile too...

I believe, for the most part, you get out what you put in. The shop window says a lot about a person - that goes for the shop window you approach too - do they "look/feel" compatible to begin with!!!

If a profile has put time, effort, imagination and wit, interesting photos on display, then respect and acknowledge that in your introductory message...through use of wit and humour.

We have gotten some hilarious messages in response to our profile, easy conversation starter . I would only approach a profile if I know I have an impressionable profile with an original message to follow (herself here, I tend to run the introductory correspondence, so you'll have to "pass" my inspection before you pass his ).

Long winded messages that are clearly copied and pasted I just delete, if its the 2nd or 3rd time they have sent it , block and delete.

If I get a hi message and look at their profile and as little effort is put into profile ie. No pics, ticked will meet everyone, 18-99, and nothing in bio - message deleted

Now if I get a hi how are you and their profile grabs my attention I will reply

To be fair , where else can you go for butter , forget to buy it but come out with a BBQ, a chainsaw,an air fryer, a stepladder and an extravagant new bin for €12.43 . The middle aisle of Aldi has treasures unknown to our greatest civilisations. The Vikings and the Egyptian kings of times past would have an epic adventure surveying the newest safety boots and bathroom mirrors !

I have everyone blocked with message filters but every now and again I ease up a bit and every time I tell myself that I'm never doing it again.

The 'fill in later' profiles always have the same basic message 'hi x' this shows me they haven't read my bio.

If a person can't find something more to say after looking at my profile, then they shouldn't be sending me a message bc I'm not what they're looking for.

Anytime I send a message its profile related or forum comment based. Usually I'm taking the piss but the same applies to me, a persons photos may be delicious but if I can't think of something to say other than that, then I'm really not that interested

Have you tried switching off blue screens 2 hours before bedtime, warm milky drink, room completely dark, window cracked open for fresh air circulating, listening to some sleep meditation ...that might help with the extra hour, as well as a regular bedtime and get up and go time

I've just replied to someone (which I don't do often. I've a few I chat to and that's all I want at the moment) and asked if the woman in his pic consented to her picture being used. I was told that was a "random" response, to which I replied "not really, you shouldn't use pictures unless the person has consented". His reply was "do I need the fab police?".

I try to make all my messages unique, however I've noticed that it's very easy (at least for me) to make it sound like a copy-paste message.

Usually this happens if I don't have much to go on with a profile bio, as I don't really like commenting on just someone's pics.

That generally doesn't lead anywhere and I do want to have a conversation with whoever I'm chatting to before bringing up their thoughts on a meet up.
